At least they had sandy beaches. We sun-bathed for a while in the public (no entrance fee required) part of the beach. It think this idea of charging access fees for the beach is absurd. Anyway, we stayed in Grado for a night before cycling to Venezia, our final cycle-stop. We realized that we do not have much time left since I have already booked by flight back to Sweden and it leaves from Milan on the 8 Sept. We had to more distance and plan in more detail the activities for the next few days.
Night time came and we found a spot behind a church where we can put up camp. But guess what? Tomorrow is Sunday! So we had to hide ourselves better so we do not get in trouble. However, the priest of the catholic church was really kind to let us camp there anyway. He already knew we were there early Sunday morning when the services where starting. He just waited till the very end when we were packing our stuff to come and greet us. The amazing thing about this spot was also the unlimited supply of drinking water from a leaking pipe near the roadside close to the church. We could clean ourselves really well that day. A luxury in a trip like this.

After that blessing from God, we continued west to San Donà di Piave and then south towards Lido di Jesolo, another incredibly long stretch of beach, umbrellas, tourists and shops. We tried the water there and took the free shower available there to cool down from the hot sun.
