Stockholm & Tallinn

The past few days have been really terrific.  I took the train from Lund to Stockholm.  Nothing spectacular about that.  In Stockholm, I met a friend I knew from Lund and we went to visit the Vasa warship that sunk in its maiden voyage.

The Vasa warship from the side.

Life and work on the boat.  Not pleasant.  The sailors live and work in the same spot.

The square of many demonstrations

A model of the city.  Stockholm is pretty large.

Princess Anastasia, the cruise liner that I took to travel from Stockholm to Tallinn and St Petersburg.

After travelling for a day, we reached the capital city of Estonia, Tallinn.  During World War II, this city was not bombed or destroyed as much as the other capital cities in Europe (so says Sergey my information source).  Much of the architecture from the middle ages survived till today for our enjoyment.
Tallinn!!

Sweden again.  I can't get away from that place. Haha.

There are many of these dolls in the old part of the city.  Sort of like a sales gimmick.

Orthodox church.  Aleksander Nevski cathedral.

A traveller from a place far far away.

Nice beer place.  Looks like German pub.

The pictures are great! I was in Tallinn back in 2009-such a lovely little old town. Enjoy the rest of the trip, Mark! Mariya
